“Hello, my name is Ashraf I am 20 years old and I am currently in Gaza, Palestine. We have been displaced and are living in a tent in the city of Deir al-Balah. We are suffering from the devastating circumstances of this war, particularly the lack of food, water, and medical aid. All of which, are outrageously priced. There is no income or normalcy within the 9-month cessation of work, education, and basic health services that we desperately need. At the beginning of the war, our house was bombed and two of my family members were injured. We evacuated to the south of the city, in a desert area, inside a worn out tent that lacks privacy. We cook in it, change our clothes, and sleep in it. It does not accommodate all the members of my family, which consists of 10 people. It does not protect against the summer heat, nor the cold of winter (it’s been besieged for over half a year). Despite the restrictions imposed on this city, I hope you can help my family and I afford our basic necessities and escape this constant fear… we are desperate for safety.
